National Science and Technology Week (NSTW) is annually celebrated
every third week of July to highlight the significant contributions of Science and
Technology to national development. 2019 NSTW was officially opened on
Wednesday, July 17, at the World Trade Center Pasay City with the theme: “Science
for the People: Enabling Technologies for Sustainable Development.” It showcases
exhibits divided into 8 clusters: (1) Food Security, Energy and Environment;
(2) Aging Society, Health and Medical Care; (3) S&T Human Resource
Development; (4) Equity Growth in the Countryside; (45) Biodiversity and
Sustainable Use of Biological Resources; (6) Sustainable Cities and
Communities; (7) Resilience and Innovation; and (8) International Linkages.
Admission is free and it is open to public; so,
the Grade 4 Special Science Class grabbed the great opportunity to come – together
with their parents and teachers. TPES SSC learners explored amazing inventions,
discovered spectacular researches, and gained new information. They enjoyed the
exhibit and wished that they could also experience showcasing their talents and
pursue their potential in Science and Technology in their beloved school. I
believe that the knowledge they gained in this celebration will serve as their
motivation to be great when it comes to innovation.
