As we all strive every day to make a living in this world, we find ourselves more tired with little time left to spend with our beloved family. At Timoteo Paez Elementary School, we believe it’s important to make a pause in life and spend time with family, especially our children. We often work so hard everyday in order to provide for ourselves and families that sometimes we give up one of the most important things we could provide to our families, time.
Family Day reminds us all to focus our thoughts, energies and time to those closest to us — the members of our own families. Throughout our busy lives filled with learning, teaching and working, it is easy to allow ourselves to lose sight of what should always be most important — our children, parents, and other loved ones. Celebrating family day in school is a great way to bond for parents, children and their teachers. This event gives us an opportunity to reconnect: re-energize, refocus and share some quality time together.
Last February 2, 2019, the Grade–three pupils with their parents and teachers celebrated the Family Day at Timoteo Paez Elementary School. This event aimed to gather the grade-three pupils, their families and teachers in order to interact and get to know each other. Mr. Jodel Gomba and Mrs. Cristina Panoy took charge of hosting the program.
The program started at exactly 8:00 in the morning. It began with the singing of the National Anthem followed by a prayer which was led by Mr. Rafael Dacaimat. The program was warmed and graced by the message of our Master Teacher — Ms. Yolanda Banog. Her message encouraged and inspired everyone especially the parents and students to continue their support to the school and build a better relationship within TPES community.
This very special day was flavored by different performances of each team. The Pink Team and Green Team showed their creativity by dancing with remixed songs. The Blue Team used their hands and hips to dance to the tune of “Girl in the Mirror” while the Yellow Team gave their best to dance the “Chambe” song.
Several parlor games were played by the parents and pupils which was facilitated by the staff of Jollibee with the help of Mrs. Gilvie Sulayao and Ms. Jocel Serrano. Parents and pupils belonging in the same color were the teammates. Pupils and parents from sections Peridot, Sapphire, Ruby and Emerald were the Yellow Team. The Green Team was represented by sections Turquoise, Garnet and Jade. In the Pink Team was sections Diamond, Special Science Class and Aquamarine. Last but not the least, the Blue Team from the sections Pearl, Amethyst and Zircon.
Mrs. Jessica L. Madronio, one of our Master Teachers gave the closing remarks and expressed her appreciation to all the parents, pupils and teachers who made the event very successful. Parents, pupils and teachers got the chance to bond and eat their lunch together. Everyone was full and satisfied after the event.
