This is why family day is annually celebrated at Timoteo Paez Elementary School—to give families a chance to reflect on the meaning of being a family and to spend quality time with their loved ones by participating in fun-filled activities together.
Making time for your family is a simple way that parents can do to connect with their own kids and to escape from their busy schedule either at work or at home to make a big difference and significantly boost the holistic development of their child’s well-being.
Last October 19, Grade Four held its family fun day filled with different activities which resulted to a strong parent-child relationship with the active involvement of the teachers.
The program started at exactly 8 a.m. It commenced with the singing of the national anthem followed by the doxology performed by the Grade Four pupils. Opening remarks was given by one of the grade four Master Teachers—Mrs. Ma. Aurora R. Banog. Her words touched the hearts of many. She inspired and encouraged everyone to get involved with the development of their children for it is their right to be loved and taken care of, exactly the theme of this year’s family day: “Where there is love, there is a family. When there is a family, the child is developed holistically.”
The event was even more lit up with the exciting activities prepared by the Jollibee crew who hosted the event. Exciting games and various prizes made the event memorable in achieving its goal. It was not merely bridging the gap but also showcasing the children’s talent through dance presentation by each team. It was like hitting two birds with one stone. And all hail to the Yellow Team for bagging this year’s family fun day Best in Area and Best in Dance Presentation. What a glorious moment to see the parents and children’s collaborative effort paid off! However, It was evident that all of the teams did a very applauding performance during the event – good job indeed!
Aside from the fun activities, a cake raffle was also one of the highlights in the event. Cakes were given as major prize and consolation prizes were also given to the lucky winners. The cake may taste sweet but there’s nothing sweeter than the love of a parent to his/her child. However, you can savour the sweetness of moments together.
Mr. Renato U. Polo, one of the Master Teachers gave his closing remarks by expressing his warm appreciation to the cooperation and support of the parents, active participation of the pupils, and great involvement of the teachers. It was fun. There was never a dull moment. Everyone was capable of participating in many ways just to create a strong bond among each other.
Thus, being a family means you are part of something very wonderful. It means you will love and be loved for the rest of your life. Family is love!
