TPES welcomed the Nutrition Month Celebration with the theme “Kumain ng Wasto at Maging Aktibo… Push Natin ‘To!” on the first of July at the TPES covered court – despite the pouring rain.

Due to inclement weather, the parade was cancelled; but the program, hosted by Mr. Robert P. Irinco, still proceeded. It started with the Philippine National Anthem, Doxology, and Pasay City Hymn which was followed by the opening remarks of the EPP-HE and School Feeding Program Coordinator, Mrs. Adalia A. Gaila – Master Teacher II. Mrs. Gaila briefly discussed the focal theme of the event and reiterated the importance of having a balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle. To break the ice, TPES Drum and Lyre executed an intermission number to showcase their exhibition performance which they have prepared for the parade.

Then, Mrs. Diane B. Quitay presented the activities which will occur for the whole duration of the Nutrition Month. These include the on-the-spot poster making contest, bulletin board contest, cooking contest and food bazaar, jingle rap contest; the slogan making contest and the headdress contest – both of which were already selected per grade level on the day of the opening ceremony. An A-1 Child will also be chosen and awarded on the Culminating Program on July 31 at the TPES covered court.

The celebration ended with a message of gratitude from Mrs. Rowela R. Cadayona – Master Teacher II to all the teachers, pupils, and parents who have shown their full support in making the opening program of the Nutrition Month 2019 a success.
