In response to the quest of DepED Pasay to holistically develop learners in all aspects, the Schools Division Office, Curriculum Implementation Division had took part and held the first ever Robotic Training Workshop for Kids at Timoteo Paez Elementary School on July 12, 2018. The said workshop was conducted by Julian Yu and Kyle Javier both members of a newly formed society known as “Street Engineers” whose mission is to reach out to under privileged students with love for science, technology, engineering and mathematics. They explained how a robot works and the application of robotcs in the outside world. They also taught the basics of programming, allowing kids to learn how simple commands pieced together to make a robot. They also exposed the pupils with hands-on activity like maze and sumobot activity were kids really enjoyed with full of excitement.
The training was participated by 20 selected elementary pupils from four schools namely: Timoteo Paez Elementary School, Padre Burgos elementary School, Villamor Airbase Elementary School and Andres Bonifacio Elementary School.
The participants and guests were welcomed by the ever-supportive School Principal, Mrs. Glenda D. Tabaquirao.
The training was made possible through the support and initiative of Dr. Maripaz T. Mendoza, Education Program Supervisor in Science.
Also present in the training were Mr. Librado F. Torres, CID Chied, Dr. Azucna L. Evardone, Public School District Supervisor and Dr. Tirso V. Gali, Principal, Apelo Cruz Elementary School.
