The teaching and non-teaching personnel of Timoteo Paez Elementary School participated in the Blood Donation Drive initiated by the TPES Junior Red Cross Council together with the Red Cross Pasay City Chapter which was dubbed as “Dugong Alay, Dugtong Buhay” held at the TPES LRC last August 22.

Donors underwent screening by Dr. Glenn Ardonio, a volunteer from the Red Cross Pasay City Chapter, before they could donate to assure the health of the patients who will be the beneficiaries of the collected blood. The activity was also attended by Ms. Agnes P. Esguera, a representative of the Red Cross Pasay City Chapter.

The activity was led by Ms. Rosemarie J. Farinas, the TPES JRCY Coordinator together with the TPES JRCY assistant coordinators , TPES teachers and master teachers of each grade level, TPES GPTA officers, and some volunteers.

According to Donor Recruitment Officers Rosario Stephanie Ornum (DOH), “A healthy person can donate blood every three months which also helps the body boost production of red blood cells. Regular blood letting also reduces the risk of heart attack, lower cholesterol levels and contribute in giving the skin a healthier glow.”

The activity aims to collect a total of 100 blood bags from donors. The collected blood will then be stored at the Red Cross Pasay City Chapter Blood Bank and will be readily available for patients who are in need.
