The pupils of Timoteo Paez Elementary School together with their advisers and some parents accomplished the “Clean-Up Day” during the last hour of class in their respective classrooms last June 21.
Grade leaders from each level had their meeting ahead of time with the TPES School Head Mrs. Glenda D. Tabaquirao – Principal IV about the said activity. Mrs. Tabaquirao requested this clean-up day to make sure that each classroom was ready for the new school year and for the pupils to have a conducive environment for learning.
Some advisers also requested the presence of some parents in this activity especially from the lower grade levels, as some pupils are still unable to help in properly cleaning their room. For some grade levels however, like in grade four, the pupils have their shared responsibility to clean their classrooms. They were assigned to clean the floor, walls, windows, cabinets as well as in cleaning the electric fans.
Based on my observation and as a class adviser, this activity had a positive outcome. The pupils, teachers and parents are willing to help and have their contribution in maintaining the cleanliness of our school – particularly the classrooms. In my honest opinion, I hope this activity could be done as part of the routine even just for an hour and be called as “Friday is Clean-Up Day”. What do you think?
