                The National Women’s Month Celebration every March is part of the worldwide observance of the International Women’s Day. The theme “We Make Change Work for Women” highlighted the empowerment of women as active contributors to and claim holders of development.

                In support to the celebration of the National Women’s Month, TPES conducted a seminar on “Cervical Cancer Awareness” among teaching and non –teaching staff last March 8, 2019 at TPES Learning Resource Center.

            The seminar proper started with an invocation followed by the singing of the National Anthem and Pasay Hymn through video presentation. Ms. Cherry Pie Pauig, GAD co – chairperson, prepared an energizer to break the ice. It was followed by a heartwarming opening remarks was delivered by Mrs. Glenda D. Tabaquirao, TPES Principal. In her message, she stressed the roles and importance of women in the society. Then, Ms. Mary Ann Agoto, GAD co –chairperson, reiterated the legal mandates to support the said celebration.

            The resource speaker, Mr. Arman Imus, discussed the causative agents behind cervical cancer. He then promoted further awareness on the disease and emphasized the importance of early testing. He focused on the prevention of cervical cancer by vaccination and taking preventive measures related to reproductive health of females.

                 The program ended after the awarding of certificates.
