Philippine Standard Time:

The beginning of the school year has been a blessing for Timoteo Paez Elementary School as it was chosen by Save the Children Philippines for its Project BURST (Building Urban Children’s Resilience against Shocks and Threats of Resettlement) held last July 26, 9:00 AM at TPES Covered Court.

Save the Children is an international non-government organization which aims to help children to gain access to quality education, health services, and protection and support in times of great need. During the Introduction of Project BURST, Mr. Kim Clarence D. Enriquez, Area Coordinator of Save the Children PH, mentioned that the NGO’s branch in the country specifically targets pupils who have undergone resettlement to help them have an easier transition from their present home to their relocated community.

Fortunately, TPES was chosen as its partner school in giving assistance to pupils who are living near the waterways and who have been relocated from Cavite to Malibay, Pasay City.

Mr. Rodel Caccam, also an Area Coordinator of Save the Children PH, and Mrs. Concepcion M. Macapagal, Project Development Officer – Youth Formation of SDO Pasay, conducted a workshop on how these pupils can participate in the resettlement process which includes illustrating their present and envisioned future community. The presentation of output took place after the group activity and free lunch was served immediately after the program.

Hopefully, TPES pupils can gradually adjust to their new community and learning environment through Save the Children PH’s Project BURST.
