ALWAYS FIRST, ALWAYS READY, ALWAYS THERE. Aiming to enable lay people to save lives in times of need, more than 50 students of Timoteo Paez Elementary School join the nationwide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Awareness Campaign held at Pasay City East High School on July 16, 2018.
PRC mobilized its staff and volunteers to conduct hands – on CPR demonstration nationwide including schools, hospitals, and barangay covered courts– joint mostly by students of elementary and secondary schools.
“The success of this campaign also contributes our effort to build community resilience in times of disasters and emergencies. Basic CPR is an essential skill that everyone has to learn properly to help save lives when needed “Chairman Richard Gordon said. “We also aim to to spark volunteerism among the youth and encourage them to participate in humanitarian works”, he added.
The nationwide CPR campaign was held in partnership with the Department of Education, Department of Health and the Philippine Heart Association to maximize the Republic Act No. 10871 or the “Basic Life Support Training Schools Act”. Which requires basic education students to undergo age– appropriate basic life-saving training.
Meanwhile Mrs. Adelina B. Castillo– Chapter Administrator, Ms. Agnes Esguerra – Chapter Service Representative led the campaign thru the supervision of Mrs. Jhing Villanueva—EPS Mobilization Program.
